For women who appreciate home decor, enjoy sipping tea in quaint settings, and cherish the beauty of a cozy lifestyle, here’s a curated Spring bucket list to inspire your springtime adventures.

1. Create a Floral Arrangement

  • Creating a floral arrangement for spring is a fun way to enjoy the charm and elegance of the Spring season. One of my favorite books on creating floral arrangements is called Flower School: A Practical Guide to the Art of Flower Arranging. It’s great and one of my favorite go to books! Gather fresh flowers from your garden or local flower market to arrange in a rustic vase. I’ve also seen fresh flowers at Costco and my local grocery stores. In my opinion a fresh floral centerpiece is the perfect piece of Spring home decor. Whether you opt for a simple arrangement of wildflowers or a more elaborate display featuring roses and peonies, just embrace the natural beauty and whimsy of the season.

2. Host a Vintage Tea Party

  • Hosting a vintage tea party with a pot of tea and finger food is my favorite Spring activity! A vintage tea party reminds me of a bygone era. Drawing inspiration from classic novels like “Alice in Wonderland” or the popular Netflix series “Bridgerton,” you can set the scene with Victorian hues, vintage crockery, and floral accents to create a truly enchanting experience. Check out one of my favorite white porcelain tea sets to get started.
  • When planning your vintage tea party, consider selecting a sunny garden or patio or back porch. Send out handwritten invitations to set the mood for your event, and don’t forget to create an online event to keep guests informed.
  • As for the menu, opt for classic scones, finger sandwiches, and an assortment of pastries served on a three-tiered stand for a traditional touch. Offer a selection of teas, including caffeinated and herbal options, and decorate the space with fresh flowers, vintage crockery, and soft music to enhance the ambiance. With attention to detail and a touch of creativity, your vintage tea party is sure to be a memorable and delightful occasion for all who attend.

3. Embark on a Nature Walk

  • Embracing a nature walk for spring is a quintessential aspect of the Cottagecore lifestyle, where simplicity and nature walk hand in hand. Picture yourself strolling through meadows adorned with wildflowers, surrounded by the wind and the sweet melodies of birdsong. In a world where we feel like we’re always on fast-forward, taking a leisurely nature walk allows us to slow down, reconnect with the earth, and find solace in the beauty of our surroundings. If you’re living in the suburbs like me then you may not automatically know where a nature trail is, so check out All Trails. It’s one of my favorites. In cityscapes in North Carolina, we have Greenways or 250 miles (402 km) of walking trails, where we can walk or ride our bikes.
  • A nature walk is more than just a leisurely activity; it’s a form of mindfulness that promotes well-being and fosters a deeper connection with the natural world. As you wander through wooded trails or along sunlit paths, you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and scents of spring. So, slip on your walking shoes, embrace the simplicity of nature, and let the tranquility of a springtime stroll envelop you in its peaceful embrace.

10. Practice the Art of Letter Writing

  • Spring is the perfect time to rediscover the timeless art of letter writing, a practice that fosters connection, creativity, and mindfulness in our fast-paced digital age.
  • Draw inspiration from historical figures like Abigail Adams, who was an avid letter writer. Abigail understood the power of words, the significance of time, and the importance of genuine human connection.
  • Just as Abigail Adams crafted each letter to convey her thoughts, we too can encourage our friends and family to embrace the art of expression through writing. By composing heartfelt letters to loved ones, friends, or even pen pals, we can cultivate empathy, gratitude, and interpersonal relationships.
  • Choose beautiful stationery and elegant pens to add a touch of romance to your correspondence. I hope you enjoy expressing gratitude, love, and appreciation for those who hold a special place in your life.

To achieve this, prepare as much as possible the night before. Set the table with plates, napkins, silverware, and glasses, ensuring everything is readily accessible. Consider prepping ingredients for cocktails like Bloody Mary mix or mimosas ahead of time to save you from any last-minute dashes to the store.
  • Opt for make-ahead dishes like baked French toast or scones that can be frozen weeks in advance, allowing you to simply pop them in the oven on the morning of your brunch. Choose substantial egg dishes such as quiche or strata that can be prepared the night before, freeing you from the demands of cooking omelets to order. Remember, the essence of hosting a brunch is to cherish moments with friends, so don’t hesitate to delegate tasks and focus on creating cherished memories together.
  • Lastly, set a picturesque table adorned with fresh flowers, vintage cups, and linens for a touch of elegance and don’t forget the teas and mimosas!

13. Craft Your Own Herbal Tea Blends

  • Crafting your own herbal tea blends for spring can be a delightful way to embrace the season. Herbal teas taste great and can support your immune system. Take inspiration from the springtime herbs and spices, such as fragrant chamomile, refreshing lemon balm, and vibrant rose petals.
  • Each blend should comprise three main components: a lead or base herb, supportive herbs, and accent or synergist herbs. Your base herb forms the foundation of your blend, providing a majority of the mixture and supporting your desired outcome. Complement this with supportive herbs that enhance the properties or flavors of your base, and add a touch of complexity with accent herbs that elevate the overall blend. Experiment with different combinations and proportions, allowing your intuition and taste preferences to guide you on a sensory journey through the art of herbal tea blending.
